TPS Goes South



Kenya-based Tourism Promotion Services(TPS) has entered into southern Tanzania’s safari industry


TPS has become a major shareholder in Mvumo River Lodge and Selous Wildlife Lodge, which overlook Rufiji River and its famous gorges by signing a contract to acquire 51 per cent of the lodges. The deal is subject to conclusion of a due diligence.


Mr Mahmud Janmohamed, the managing director of Serena Hotels said the deal was expected to be completed by the end of September.


The Mvumo River Lodge will be relaunched next month and its sister lodge, the Selous Wildlife Lodge, will be re-launched a month later.


TPS also owns and operates: (in the country’s northern circuit)

§ The Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

§ Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

§ Arusha Mountain Village

§ Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

§ Kirawira Camp,

§ Western Serengeti, and

§ Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp


In Zanzibar

It also owns the Zanzibar Serena Inn and the Mangapwani Beach Resort
