TANZANIANS have been appointed to run the troubled Tanzania Telecommunication Company (TTCL) taking over from the Canadian management firm, Saskatel.
The New Management Team at TTCL
1. Said Said - Chief Executive Officer-CEO (He was the head of Business - Southern Highland : Iringa and Mbeya regions)
2. Priscilla Chilipweli - Chief Technical Officer-CTO (She was the Head of Network Planning)
3. Shaban Mrisho - Chief Financial Officer-CFO (He was the Finance & Supplies)
4. Ernest Nangi - Chief Marketing Officer-CMO (He was the Head of Business Unit- Dar es Salaam)
Canadian firm SaskTel International appointed in 2007 to run the Tanzania Telecommunication Company Ltd in a three-year, $5 million Contract Development Network has backed out of the deal having gone bankrupt citing inability to raise the necessary the funds needed to turn the firm around.
MSI (Netherlands) and Detecon (Germany):
Earlier in 2001, a consortium of MSI (Netherlands) and Detecon (Germany) acquired 35 per cent stake in the firm from the government, taking over both the board and management, but later pulled out, which left controversially, leaving behind a 60 million US dollars liability due to the government for acquisition of shares in TTCL
Decision on Tanzania International Container Terminal Services (TICTS) would be decided today in Dodoma after a meeting between four government ministers and the management of the company according to one of the leading Daily newspapers(Daily News)

Tanzania Port Authority –its been pending
The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) Director- General, Mr Gerald Bigurube, has resigned.
Mr Edward Kishe has taken over as the acting director-general.
