Tanzania will receive a $400 million loan from China for a 200 megawatts coal power project, the government said today.
Energy and Minerals Minister William Ngeleja told reporters the funds will be invested in Kiwira coal power project that the government has taken over from private investors.
"This is a short-term project. Give it two years and it will be generating 200 megawatts," he told reporters on the sidelines of a regional energy conference.
